I worked for B&Q as a Customer Service Advisor for over four years.My main duties includedealing
with customer returns and complaints,ensuringcustomers receivethe best servicewithin the store
and answeringthe telephone in the phone office, which deals with customer enquiries.I am also fully
till trained and havethe responsibility for the cash flowof my own till.
Smart Metering Systems
I have worked within SMS PLC for justover 3 years.Sincethis time I have progressed throughout the
company. I started out as a smartmetering coordinator which involved callingcustomers to have
engineers attend their site/premises and exchange over their current gas meter for a newer model.
After this I moved to a technical roleand was advisingpeoplein the company of not only the
standards thatwe should be followingbut advisingthem on design figures for the gas meter
installation.I amnot in a rolewhere I auditthe jobs that have been completed by our engineers and
the paperwork completed by advisors within thecompany. This is a rather important roledue to the
fact that if there areerrors within the auditprocess then we are in breach of MAMCoP (Meter Asset
Manager Code Of Practice).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I have an outgoing personality and feel that I have the enthusiasmto make a valuableaddition to any
team providinga quality service. I communicate well and I am comfortablewith the needs and
demands of any environment. I have confidencein my abilities to meet any challengewith vigour and
professionalism. Throughout my school and collegeyears I have had excellent time keeping and
attendance. I have gained four years customer serviceexperience, which has taught me the
importance of workingto deadlines and I currently do this on a regular basis.Theseyears experience
also gives me the confidence to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and the board of
management. I feel working within customer servicehas enhanced my people skillsand I thoroughly
enjoy working with the public.I havebeen a guitaristfor seven years and this requires a largeamount
of attention to detail,as there are so many aspects to focus on. I have also used Microsoftpackages
such as MicrosoftWord within B&Q to design tables and create template letters. I also have
experience workingwith packages such as Excel through computing modules and I have helped family
members carry out excel documents. I usethese programs on a daily basisas my roleheavily involves
these programs.Overall,I am a reliable,hard workingand motivated individual who enjoys working
within customer service.
