PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Automatic over speed limit detector/indicator which can
alert the driver about over speeding.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Over speeding is major cause of accidents.
Not paying attention towards the maximum speed limit
signs.
Not paying attention towards the speedometer of the car.
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
To get the maximum speed limit of the road.
To audibly alert the driver in the scenario of Over speeding.
IMPLEMENTATION
Parse the GPS response
to extract the current speed,
longitude and latitude
Request the Here maps to get
maximum speed limit for the
current co-ordinates
Parse the Response from Here
maps to get Maximum speed
limit of the road
Compare the current speed
with the Maximum Speed limit
and give signal to the buzzer
RESULTS ACHIEVED
Team Speed Detectors was able to:
Parse the GPS data to get current speed, latitude and
longitude.
Get the maximum speed limit of the road from the Here
Maps API.
Parse the speed limit response and compared the current
speed with the maximum speed limit of the road.
CONCLUSION
Need of fast and reliable GPRS connection.
Used Here maps API just for prototype.
Access of Google API is needed for success of this product.
FUTURE WORK
 Can decrease the response time of the product.
 Can include visual alerts.
