This document provides instructions to make edible roses out of one loaf of white bread as a decorative centerpiece. The 15 step process involves cutting bread slices into flat petals and leaves, rolling them, overlapping pieces, and shaping them into roses. The roses and leaves are then baked at a low temperature for a few minutes until slightly browned to create a crisp yet edible decoration for dining tables or cake topping using only bread.

Bread Roses
Let me show you how
to make roses from
ONE LOAF OF
BREAD. This roses
is 100% edible, don't
worry you won't be running to the toilet. Can use it for
dining table decoration or cake decoration. It's very
crispy and nice to munch when you got nothing better
to do.
4. 1. We need 8 slices of white bread, trim off the
crust. Roll it as flat as possible with a rolling pin.
5. 2. Cut the bread into 2 pieces and roll it flat again
with rolling pin.
6. 3. Cut bread into the shape of petals with a pair of scissor.
One rose require ½ slice of bread and six pieces of
petals. One slice of bread can cut 4 pieces of petals.
7. 4. After cut out the petal roll flat again with rolling
pin.
8. 5. Overlap about ¼ inch from base of petal and roll flat
with rolling pin. Not roll all the way up to heaven, just
half way will do. This step is optional; you can still
make the roses without doing the 1/4 inch overlap.
9. 6. Take the ½ slice of bread and roll into a cylinder
shape. Press the base of the bread to hold the shape.
10. 7. Take 1 petal and wrap half of the cylinder and
squeeze tight at the base.
11. 8. Take the second piece of petal and put on the
opposite direction and squeeze at the base.
12. 9. Attached the third piece of petal in between the
number one and two petals.
13. 10. Attached the forth piece of petal on the opposite
direction of the third petal. Make sure to squeeze
the base so secure the petals.
14. 11. Attached the fifth petal in between the third and
forth petals, the sixth petal will be on the opposite
direction. Squeeze hard to secure the petals. This
rose is not using the overlapping petal method.
15. 12. If you do the overlapping petal ( refer to step 5)
this is how it look like when completed.
17. 15. Cut some leaves from the left over bread, make
the vein of the leaves using a plastic knife but do
not cut thru. All cutting are using free hand, I did
not use template or cutter for the petals and leaves.
That's why you
can see my
petals and leaves
are all uneven
sizes.
18. 16. Line the leaves and roses in a baking tray 1 inch
apart, bake in pre heat oven at 150 deg c°.
A) Bake the leaves for 3 to 4 mins. Mine was over
baked due to some distraction...... LOL
B) Bake the roses for 8 to 10 mins until slightly
brown at the edge of
the petals.
A simple bread roses.
Can use as a center
piece for party or
dinning table.
