About Nathan Weister
Nathan is currently working for Eaton Electrical at their world headquarters, which is based in Pittsburgh,
PA. He is presently a designer specializing in the development of power circuit breakers, breaker cassettes,
and accessories.
Since starting with Eaton Electrical in 2000, Nathan’s role as a designer has included skills in
conceptualization, design, detail, and building components from customer specifications. His expertise has
also employed the use of thermo set and thermoplastic moldings, sheet metal and mechanical kinematic
design. Nathan has authored and partnered many ECD standards, including the Drafting Standards and
Special Characteristics documentation. In 2001, he was inducted as a member into the "Eaton Society of
Inventors" with 27 disclosed or filed patents.
In 2004, Nathan championed the successful and complete implementation of GD&T into a $12M electrical
circuit breaker development program, working closely with the consultant group, Effective Training Inc.
During that time, Nathan orchestrated and conducted GD&T training within the R&D center and offsite
plants, as well as peer to peer training and development. Since then, Nathan has been responsible for the
teams’ documentation checking, standards adherence, and internal drafting standards. Additionally, he has
provided counsel to vendors and suppliers on drawing interpretation and inspection reports. During the
design phase, Nathan has performed hundreds of assembly stacks using geometric tolerances both in worst
case and statistical conditions. In addition to hand calculation, he has utilized specialized software (CE/Tol)
for complex tolerance stacks involving hundreds of components.
Prior to employment at Eaton, Nathan has worked as an independent contractor for CCAD, based in
Cleveland, OH, Universal Auto Radiator located in Pittsburgh, Invensys Appliance Controls from New
Stanton, PA and Michael Baker Jr, Inc in Beaver, PA.
Nathan graduated with honors and perfect attendance from Pittsburgh Technical Institute with an Associate
degree in Specialized Technology. His high school diploma comes from Blackhawk High School, Beaver
County, PA.
