PLAYDATE Overview

PLAYDATE is an acronym that defines the interactions of PLAYDATE facilitators and participants.

At a PLAYDATE the facilitator begins with a KickOff by showing
participants the foundational elements of a given EdTech tool and
presents a query to the participants.

PLAYDATEs are not mandated or topdown.  PLAYDATE
participants are not led through content, per se.  Guidance is
provided and participants work through topics in a selfdirected
fashion.

The balance of time at a PLAYDATE is for participants.  Participants engage in selfdirected/minimallyguided
exploration of the EdTech tool in an effort to solve the query.  Each PLAYDATE culminates with sharing and
reflection, to foster critical thinking and greater takeaways by participants.

PLAYDATEs are identified as either granular or enrichment:
● Granular:  Participants explore further an already widelyused tool by PLAYing with new elements and
discovering new functionality.
● Enrichment:  Participants get a firstlook at a new tool that could enhances teaching and learning using
