The document provides 5 easy ways to embrace imperfection. The first is to accept that nothing is perfect and stop worrying about being imperfect. The second is to see imperfections as strengths rather than negatives. The third is to set clear goals so the focus is on progress rather than perfection. The fourth is to let go of perfection and not take things too seriously. The fifth is to choose your battles and focus on what really matters rather than sweating the small stuff.
3. Nothing is
perfect
#Flawsome
Accept that nothing in this world that has natural origins, as we humans do, is perfect, or is
ever going to be perfect. Knowing this should allow you to slow down and smell the roses!
And just because you know nothing is perfect doesn’t mean you have to stop trying your
best. It simply means that you can stop worrying about being imperfect, because everybody
is!

Imperfections are
strengths
#Flawsome
Begin to see your imperfections as strengths and benefits. You can view
just about anything either negatively or positively. Positive thinking is a
way of life, and it can also be a learned skill. You may think to yourself, “I
have such huge, embarrassing hands.” But those large hands with long
fingers are just perfect for playing guitar or piano, palming a basketball,
or wrapping around a child’s hands, making them feel safe. Learning to
see the positive in those things you now view negatively will help you
have a more positive attitude overall!

5. Set clear goals
#Flawsome
Be sure of where you’re headed. This clarity of direction in your
life will take the pressure off how you get there. So long as you’re
moving towards the goal, being perfect in how you get there
becomes much less important. If you have a clear direction, and a
clear goal, let that give you the self-confidence you need to
embrace getting there in an imperfect manner.

6. Let go
of perfection
Once you learn to let go of perfection, it
becomes much easier to relax and laugh,
especially at yourself!
Learning to not take things so seriously
is a skill that will serve anyone well,
because it gives you permission to let
go of self-consciousness and laugh at
the goofy or funny things that you do,
or things that happen to you.
Let go of
self-
consciousness

Life is too short, and we only have one shot at it.
Choose your
battles
#Flawsome
By learning to embrace our
imperfection, we also learn that not
all of what we consider important
really is. Learning to choose your
battles and give priority to those
things that truly matter allows you
to live a fuller, more fulfilling life. As
they say, don’t sweat the small stuff,
and it’s all small stuff!
