The Friends of Independence National Historical Park is hosting the 4th Annual Philly Freedom 5K race on October 3, 2015. Runners will choose to run for either the Patriot or Loyalist side and compete to determine the winning side. Proceeds from the race will go towards purchasing new bicycles and maintaining the current fleet of bicycles for the park's Law Enforcement Bicycle Patrol. The bicycles help rangers protect the 54 acre park and its 4 million annual visitors. Volunteers are needed for various roles on the day of the race.

Enforcement Bicycle Patrol Fund to purchase new bicycles and maintain the current
fleet for the Law Enforcement Bicycle Patrol.
Bicycles help law enforcement officers quickly travel around the 54 acre park to protect
and serve guests. The average law enforcement bike last 2-3 years before it needs to be
replaced. The goal for the Freedom 5 K Run is to provide more bikes to our rangers as
well as much needed equipment to help protect our park, as well as the 4 million visitors
who come to this park every year.
