2. What is Assets in Logistics ?
It is an assets, with a useful life of cover one year, owned and used by a
project to achieve its stated objectives.
Example : -
1. Vehicles
2. Computers
3. Vehicle Documents
4. Vehicle Tools
5. Diesel
3. Why Assets be managed ?
Assets like vehicles – we have to keep in track always for vehicles fitness and
do the renew the fitness in every 2 years and if you fail to renew fitness then
if RTO caught the vehicle then we have to pay the heavy penalty otherwise
vehicle will be seized.
Documents – in Trucks there are mainly 7 important documents ( RC, NP, Part
A, Part B, Road Tax, Goods Tax and Fitness) .
4. Documents validity are :
1. RC - 1 Year
2. National Permit – 1 Year
3. PUC. Part A – 5 Year
4. PUC. Part B – 5 Year
5. Road Tax – 1 Year
6. Goods Tax – 1 Year
5. These all documents are very important to run the truck on road.
If we fail to renew the documents then we have to pay the penalty on border
if vehicle caught.
If we apply these documents delay in RTO then RTO will also impose penalty
for applying delay.
So these all documents need to apply early and keep in vehicle as soon as
possible. So we will save our extra money from border as well as RTO.
6. Control Assets
In trucking business for controlling these kind of documents or vehicle tools
also very important.
Some time what happen – these documents will be lost by driver or some time
driver will steal the vehicle tools.
And also some of the drivers steal the diesel from vehicle tank.
After stealing these things they will sell in market in lowest price.
These are usually on high value.
