1. The Price of Envy
If you’re human, you’ve felt envious of someone at some point in life. Whether you’ve felt
jealous of someone’s lifestyle, belongings, or accomplishments, envy is a natural emotion. However
natural it may be, it’s important to gain control when the feeling comes up as to not allow it to consume
you.
If you allow jealousy to stick around, it will cost you greatly. Here are a few ways that envy takes
from your life.
1. It’s not a good look. Jealousy turns all of us an ugly color, and it dulls our shine. When we look at
others with that dagger in our eyes, it brings out a very negative quality in us that is visible to others.
2. It clouds your judgement. It’s hard to keep a clear head and make sound decisions when your mind is
cluttered with thoughts of what other people are doing.
3. It hurts relationships. Envy can deteriorate even the strongest relationships. It’s important to learn to
celebrate the success of others without making it a personal failure.
4. It distracts you from your own goals. When you’re busy focusing on the accomplishments of others,
it detracts your focus and energy from your own life.
5. It damages your self-esteem. Comparison is the number one killer of confidence. Allowing yourself
to stew in the envy of others does nothing good for you and will only cause you to feelbadly about
yourself.
6. It takes away from your happiness. Being jealous of others’ accomplishments takes away from your
own. We all have our own journey and one person’s success does not mean your failure. Don’t allow
jealousy to take away from your own accomplishments.
7. It brings about more negativity. The law of attraction is the real deal. Jealousy and envy are negative
emotions. The more you allow negativity into your life, the more negativity you will attract.
8. It’s a waste ofenergy. Who has time to worry about what everyone else is doing?! Being envious of
others is such a drain of your precious energy. Take that focus and use it to accomplish your goals and
live the life you’ve always dreamt of!
