Drăgăuș village is a clustered type, part of Făgăraș well-known
etnographic area, between Făgăraș mountain peaks and Olt River, attested
since the 12th century. Agriculture, held early in the "three parcels" system in
closely linked whith farming, reflected in the shed with stable proportions,
relatiyely equal to those of the house.
The household dates from the 19th century and consist of the house and
the shed. The house, on high ground with a stone basement, has the walls of fir
planks joined in the right key technique, plastered and whitewashed, and the
roof in two slopes has a tiles covering. The gable of the house is on the street
while the shaped and fretted balustrade is situated towards the courtyard.
The house plan is asymmetric, having a pantry and a porch with living
room with a closet for clothes behind. In the hall is used a hearth with high
chimney and in the room to the street a strove with enameled tiles and hob.
Specificity of are is given by the presence, inside the room, of the painted floral
furniture-chests, benches with backs and "pegs" for ceramic and glass icons
crafted by the famous painters of Făgăraș. The interior fabrics-carpets, rugs,
long towels or shot are brightly colored with a rich decoration.
The shed, made of fir planks with rye straw clusters, contains the
cereals storage, the cattle stable and the open "shed" for tools.
