The recruitment goals were not
met by Oak 6 standards or the

Although not many, there were
opportunities in the area
More training would have been
effective
Phone cold calling and email
were underutilized
14. RECRUITERS

talk with potential outreach. The
project sponsor provided all
accommodations, which directly
affected the team's local community
exploration

19. PLUSES
The environmental stewardship exemplified by the
camp is respectable.
The warm blankets are great.
The movie collection is entertaining and sustaining.
Having the dogs and goats around is therapeutic.
The showers and living accommodations are great.
The coffee is fantastic!
Painting the cabins is relaxing.
Morning tasks are great because they change up the
work that happens every day.
The quantity and quality of the food provided is great.
20. PLUSES
Tony’s assistance and tips with construction work
has been helpful. Also Tony’s patience with the
construction work.
Lunch being moved later in the day
The amount of service learning opportunities
Fire place usage
Morning and afternoon tasks to change up
Assembling the benches and the raised garden beds
utilizing the recycled wood.
Finishing the boat house project, and feeling a sense of
having created a task.
Having had the True Colors/True Fellowship group here
21. EVEN BETTER IFS & SOLUTIONS
We hear more from Camp One Heartland during the
week!
Solution: Ask the staff, utilize the educational
material, and watch the videos available.
To be able to finish a project collectively from start to
finish – in this case, working on the boat house.
Solution: Take one day to finish the boat house.
Having the workday in the morning more balanced with
the work in the afternoon.
Solution: Push lunch back from 12:30PM to 1:00PM.
22. EVEN BETTER IFS & SOLUTIONS
All responsibilities were evenly divided between the two
teams working on-site.
Solution: Split the tasks as evenly as possible (i.e.
both teams build a greenhouse, both teams take
down and build three decks, etc.).
We could help cook.
Solution: Activities like “Kids in the Kitchen” was
great, and to have some part in food preparation
during the week would be great too.
We started and ended the workday earlier.
Solution: Start and end the workday earlier (issue
during winter is that it’s too cold outside to start
before 9AM usually)
24. CLOSURE
