Reference for Captain Mirko Meyer
Captain Mirko Meyer has been working for Atlantic Aviation Ltd on behalf of CHC Helicopter Services since
February 2014. As the Lead Pilot / Base Manager (BM) for Port Harcourt he had the following responsibilities:
a. The aircraft, personnel and equipment assigned to the base, and the safety of all operations
b. Supervising all flight and maintenance activities at his base
c. Reporting incidents, accidents and unsafe operations, and making recommendations
d. Scheduling and assigning duties at his base, and provide crews with adequate means for flight planning and
operations within his area
e. Analysis of applicable flight related reports and their transmission to applicable parties for further action as
required
f. Liaise directly with customers, suppliers and contractors
g. For expat and national pilots, the BM is responsible for the forecast, coordination and execution (including
QMS upload) of the base level training events.
In his capacity as an NCAA check airman and acting Chief Pilot he was further responsible for the conduct of
check rides of pilots and ensuring a high standard of knowledge, skills and safety during flight operations.
Mirko was also involved in the development and renewal of operations manuals for Atlantic Aviation.
During the training of national pilots, Mirko showed his great abilities to transfer his broad knowledge to the
next generation of aircrew.
Mirko fulfilled all of his assigned tasks to the fullest satisfaction of the company’s upper management. His
excellent organisational and leadership skills helped him to always stay on top of his workload and contributed
to the successful and safe operation of Atlantic Aviation in Port Harcourt. This earned him the position of
Director of Operations before he left the Company. His experience in helicopter operations has been a
valuable asset, one that can certainly be of great value to any company utilizing Mirko’s services.
His ability to engage and motivate his employees helped to create a professional working environment where
each individual was valued for their skills and contribution.
