1. The insights that I learned in the video interview about how toxic Filipino culture may
come in the form of shared preconceptions over simple matters, for example, Teenage
pregnancy, Teenage pregnancy carries other significant non-health risks which are specific to
this stage in the life course. For example, when a teenager bears a child and consequently either
married formally or enters into a consensual union, she puts herself at risk of not finishing her
education and of limiting her chances of realizing her full potential by being burdened with child
care when she is still, almost a child. If the teenager remains unmarried following a pregnancy,
she risks social stigma from having an out-of-wedlock pregnancy and having to bear its negative
consequences. At the aggregate level, a high teenage pregnancy rate contributes to high
population growth as teenage mothers will have considerably longer exposure to the risk of
pregnancy than those who enter into marital unions at a later age. Other the Filipino people don’t
have proper savings and proper investing, because many people's easy go lucky attitude prevents
them from developing a saving habit. There is also a lack of discipline and commitment to stay
on track with saving.
So doing that we should be able to help the Philippines culture or values to promote the
Philippines or by doing such things like for example, first god fear, especially when it comes to
every Filipinos we should be god first before the others. Second Respect PWD, Elders, It is
essential that the younger generation learns the value of elder respect by listening to them and
spending quality time with them. Also, we use to say “Po” and “Opo”. and “Pagmamano”.
Even if their bodies or minds are failing them, we must treat our elders with dignity. Third, don't
leave and move to another country. You can work in another country but not obtain foreign
citizenship. Brain drain is a major issue in this country. Lastly, speak up about cultural concerns
and issues. Many issues persist because many people choose to remain silent in the name of
"Pakikisama." Filipinos are pacifists who avoid conflict. Have a sense of self-respect. Fight for
the outcome you desire and deserve. I would say that the first thing that we should do as
Filipinos is to educate ourselves about our history to understand how and why our country is in
this present state.
