Professional Experience
Tier 2 Technical Support Centennial Optical Ltd. June 2016 - September 2016
• Worked together with the Senior System Administrator, documenting & maintaining an industrial network infrastructure (including
switches of various levels (L2 & L3), Cat 5 & Cat 6 cables, fiber-optic connections & servers). This included working with Microsoft
Server 2008.
• Provided support to users. This included repairing hardware, & troubleshooting software & network connections, working with the
Spiceworks ticketing system & HelpDesk Remote.
• Organized & executed training seminars on the use of the Windows 10 operating system, for users of all levels.
• Oversaw the Windows 10 upgrade on all company machines (over 100), this included Active Directory back-up/troubleshooting, user
profiles, security migration hard drive imaging & managing hardware/software inventories.
• Set up & supported network drives, Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), clusterization & Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), including
Citrix Receiver.
• Deployed & supported ERP software (ie. Microsoft Dynamics NAV).
• Helped with implementing Raspberry Pi-based displays across the entire company, including network & software debugging.
Academic Projects
Parallel Computing (Capstone Design Project) 2015-2016
• Led a team of three engineering students, in a year long project to create a multi-player Casino across a dynamic network.
• Designed server/client programs, with GUI, for casino games (ie. black jack, roulette), using GTK, MPI & Posix thread C libraries.
• Created a dynamic TCP/IP-based network for multiple clients & one server, using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
• Provided a formal IEEE report on the project, including milestones, performance analysis & full technical documentation.
Routing Protocol (Advanced Computer Networks) 2016
• Led a team of three engineering students, to implement a OSPF Routing Protocol, including Hello discovery, using Java & UDP
libraries on Red Hat computers with NetBeans IDE. This resolved new connections/disconnections, in real time, & changed its
topography accordingly.
• Designed & coded a server/client program that sent, received & passed along packets.
• Implemented a flow control mechanism by coding in the Stop & Wait Protocol for packet transmission.
Final Experiment: Digital Modulation (Digital Communications Systems) 2015
• Analyzed, designed and simulated various electronic modulators and demodulators (ie. QAM, FSK, PSK, PCM), using MATLAB.
• For this experiment, matched filters, A to D and D to A converters were designed, as well.
Final Experiment: Phase-locked Loop as FM Detector (Communications Systems) 2015
• Engineered an IC phase-locked loop (PLL) to be used as a FM detector, theoretically and implemented it on MATLAB.
• Analyzed the results and wrote a full report.
Design Project: Butterworth & Chebyshev Filters (Electronic Circuits II) 2014
• Designed both the Butterworth and Chebyshev low-pass filters theoretically, and demonstrated them on a breadboard.
