Physical speed and agility are important; mental
speed and agility are just as important. Because
weak cognitive skills cause 80%* of all academic
challenges, we help students, athletes, and teams
dramatically improve their performance.

How well your brain performs -
Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury research:
“While most people recover from a concussion within a week, a number of factors affect
people’s recovery, and studies have shown that teenage athletes may take up
to seven to 10 days longer to recover than older athletes,”said study author
Lisa M. Koehl, MS, and Dong (Dan) Y. Han, PsyD, of the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

“Participants were 45 individuals who were at least one-year post moderate/severe TBI.
They were evaluated with the Rivermead Behavioral Memory Test. Results showed
variability in the cognitive processes used in prospective memory tasks,
most likely due to differences in retrospective memory abilities.”

A 2011 study published in Neurosurgery reported that high school football players
who suffered two or more concussions reported mental problems at much
higher rates than other athletes, including headaches, dizziness, and sleeping
issues. The authors of the study refer to these symptoms as“neural precursors.”In other
words, consider yourself warned that the brain is not on a healthy track.
