FOR TORNADO RELIEF EFFORTS
The Taste Buds bring a little New Orleans to Tuscaloosa with a FREE tasting event
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (May 9, 2011) – Midtown Village today announced it will partner with “Three Chefs,
One Mission” to host a New Orleans style tasting event on the green space on Wednesday, May 11, from
noon to 2 pm. Chefs will serve a variety of dishes – some of which will feature Louisiana seafood – while
Louisiana’s own, Amanda Shaw, plays live music. The event is FREE to the public and is an outreach
effort to the first responders and all who have been impacted by the Tornado in the Tuscaloosa
community.
“Three Chefs, One Mission” is a new project created by three chefs: Greg Reggio, Hans Limburg, and
Gary Darling, known as the Taste Buds, who are on a mission to help communities and people in need
after facing devastating situations. The Taste Buds, founders of Zea Rotisserie & Grill and Semolina, are
no strangers to devastation, having lived through the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
They are leading a caravan to Tuscaloosa to feed more than 1,000 people who have been affected by the
recent devastating tornados. Additionally, they are donating new clothes and toys collected at Semolina in
New Orleans and all 10 corporately-owned locations of Zea Rotisserie & Grill which will be distributed to
those in need.
Pelican Events has made special arrangements to fly in Amanda Shaw to entertain people with her
Louisiana infused-mainstream music while Alabama residents and first responders enjoy the meals. The
Sound Source is providing PA, stage gear and full production for the event.
