2. Introducing the Fluke 810
Focus on common
equipment:
• Motors
• Fans and blowers
• Belts and gearboxes
• Pumps and
compressors
• Spindles
3. Overview
• The new Fluke 810 Vibration Tester is the most advanced
troubleshooting tool for mechanical maintenance teams.
• The unique diagnostic technology helps identify and prioritize
mechanical problems.
Applications
Vibration Testing & Vibration Analysis: Troubleshoot problem
equipment and understand the root cause of failure
Accurate diagnosis: Provide quantifiable proof of equipment
condition and drive investment in repair or replacement
Equipment Installation/Commissioning: Commission new
equipment and ensure proper installation. Anticipate
equipment failures before they happen and take control of
spare parts inventories

Show the 810 Brochure – leave one with the customer at the end of the visit. The first thing you will notice is the diagnostic report on the screen of the 810. The 810 provides machine condition answers in an easy to read report – machine fault with severity.Across the top are the connections for the triaxial sensor, optional single channel sensor, laser tachometer and USB cable to connect to your PC. See the image of the Viewer software on the lower left corner of the slide.Below the display, you will see the soft keys that provide links to Repair Details and other functions. The dial on the lower right is the mouse for several key features. On the right are the On/Off, Help and 3 quick buttons for Setup, Measure and Diagnose.
The 810 is designed with the user in mind with 3 simple steps:Setup – answer questions by the wizard about the machine that is to be testedMeasure – use machine icons to walk you through placing the sensor on bearings of your machine for easy measurements based on over 35 years of data collection on thousands of machineDiagnose – simply press the button and the for the automated built-in expert to diagnose and develop a report on the 4 most common machine faults – imbalance, misalignment, looseness and roller bearings. The 810 vibration tester is the simple, powerful and rugged. Training costs, upfront costs and maintenance costs are kept to the absolute minimum.
The final Step, is to review the diagnostic report.Notice that the report tells use what is the problem (Bearing Looseness), where is the problem (Motor free end), and how bad is the problem (Extreme).Slight means no action neededModerate means to keep an eye on the machine. If we were measuring the machine quarterly, we should increase the frequency to monthly.Serious means we should schedule repairs for the next downtime.Extreme means we don’t have time to wait, we need to take the machine down right away before it fails and destroys the entire machine or causes a loss of production.
