Review of the calculation of clients’ tax liabilities and assist in the
preparation of the related tax returns. Monitors that taxes are properly
remitted and tax returns are duly submitted to the Bureau of Internal
Revenue within the prescribed period of filing. Taxes covered in these
engagements include income tax, value added tax, expanded
withholding tax, final withholding tax, withholding tax on compensation
and fringe benefits tax.
• Tax Compliance Review
Diagnostic review of clients’ tax position, practices, and procedures to
determine whether they comply with the tax laws, rules and regulations.
Identify clients’ tax exposures and institute corrective action before an
examination by the tax authorities. Taxes covered in these engagements
include all national and local taxes.
4. • Tax Due Diligence Review/Agreed-Upon Procedures
Extensive tax compliance review that covers all the material taxes to
which a company is liable. The primary objective is to identify and
quantify the possible tax exposures of a company for all the years open
to examination by the tax authorities. This is usually done to a company to
be acquired, or in preparation for the initial public offering of stocks.
• Contract Review
Evaluation of the tax implications of contracts executed by clients with
other entities as well as the recommendation of tax-efficient alternatives.
• Independent CPA Report Work
Examination, evaluation and auditing of clients’ receipts and invoices to
determine the accuracy of the clients’ claim for refund or tax credit. This
is part of the Court of Tax Appeals’ (CTA) requirement to issue an
independent CPA report to attests to the correctness of the tax amount
being claimed for a refund or tax credit by a client.
