This document outlines various leak detection survey methods and services provided by Beyond Leak Detection (BLD), including bare geomembrane surveys using a custom probe, side-slope surveys with probe sticks, permanent electrical leak monitoring system installation, plumbmet surveys for lined tanks and walls, soil-covered surveys, PELM surveys, wading surveys for low liquid levels, tow surveys for high liquid levels, consultation services, preventative maintenance plans, and contact information. BLD provides bare-liner, water-covered, and soil-covered surveys as well as electrical monitoring systems.

1. BARE GEOMEMBRANE
SURVEY
The fastest and quickest
survey method using a
custom made probe that rolls
along the surface of the
installed liner.
SIDE-SLOPE SURVEY
The side-slope of an
impoundment maybe
surveyed by using
either a 9-feet or 20-
feet probe stick.
PELM SYSTEM
INSTALLATION
Permanent Electrical
Leak Monitoring (PELM)
Systems are built to our
clients specification to
monitor the presence of
a leak signal in an
installed area.
PLUMMET SURVEY
Geomembrane-lined
tanks and walls can be
surveyed depending
on the vertical height.
A 9-feet probe stick,
20-feet probe stick, or
torpedo probe may be
used for the leak
detection survey.
SOIL SURVEY
When earthen
materials cover
the liner, a soil-
covered survey
method will be
used to locate
the leaks.
PELM SURVEY
A PELM survey can be
performed by the client or
by a BLD technician. After
the collection process is
complete and the data
has been downloaded, the
signals will be graphed and
analyzed and further
pinpoint survey methods
may be required.
WADING SURVEY
The wading survey
method is suitable
when the liquid level in
the impoundment is
approximately6 to 32
inches at the
shallowest end of the
cell.
TOW SURVEY
The tow survey
method is practical
when the liquid
level in the
impoundment is
greater than 32
inches or if a high
amount of sediment
is present.
CONSULTATION
At a client's request, BLD is
available to inspect a
potential survey site to
answer any questions our
clients may have.
PREVENTATIVE
MAINTENANCE
BLD suggests a
comprehensive
preventative maintenance
plan for any PELM system
be performed bi-annually.
