Mineral Resource Engineering Program
Student Information Summary
The Dalhousie Mineral Resource Engineering Student Society has compiled the ‘Student
Information Summary’ to provide Mineral Resource Industry potential employers a ‘quick’
information source on students currently studying Mineral Resource Engineering at Dalhousie
University. In addition to this summary, each student has a detailed resume that is available
upon request. Employers are encouraged to contact students listed in the Student Information
Summary through the contact information provided by each student in this document.
Students entering the Dalhousie University Mineral Resource Engineering (MRE) Program have
achieved an Engineering Diploma from one of 7 ‘associated universities’ in Atlantic Canada. The
MRE Program comprises a two year program of studies dedicated to teaching courses required
for graduates to enter the Mineral Resource Industry as an Engineer-In-Training.
Students in this document are listed according to their year of study. Students entering the 3rd
year can enroll in the Co-op Engineering Program which requires successful completion of 3 (4
month) Work Term placements. Alternatively, students entering 3rd year can elect to complete
their MRE Program with 1 (4 month) Work Term.
Year Program Graduation
3rd Year 3 x 4 month Co-op Program May 2019
3rd Year 1 x 4 month Work Term May 2018
4th Year Co-op Program (completed) May 2017
4th Year 1 x 4 month Work Term (completed) May 2017
The total enrolment in the 3rd Year MRE Program is 37 students and the 4th Year MRE Program is
43 students. Those students listed in the document have proactively compiled the information
contained in this document for easy access by prospective employers in the Mineral Industry.
Prospective employers in the Mineral Industry should be aware there are students in the MRE
Program that are not represented in this document.
