This document discusses and compares different touchscreen unlock methods and their tradeoffs in terms of speed, precision, expression, and control. It proposes a new "TouchaTune" method of unlocking a device by playing a musical phrase using simultaneous finger touches for greater speed, precision, expression and control compared to iOS, Android, and Surface unlock methods. The document advocates for further exploration of musical approaches to touchscreen interaction that unlock additional expressive possibilities.
