  woman." Chanel
• Parfums Chanel was founded in 1920, run by Pierre and
Paul Wertheimer, and with Ernest Beaux as its technical
  director
• After a year of hard work and long-term experiments,
Ernest placed in front of Coco ten probes and divided
them into two groups. One half was numbered from 1 to
5, the second one from 20 to 24.
• Chanel chose the
  sample with the
  number five, but when
  the chemist asked her
  why, Chanel replied: “I
  am showing my
  collection on May 5, on
  5th day of 5th month.
  Let’s take the “5”
• She hoped this number
  will bring the perfumes
  good luck.
• In the 1924s, Chanel launched her first
perfume, Chanel No. 5, which was the first
  to feature a designer’s name.
 Chanel No. 5 is the first synthetic
  perfume of the 80 components
that were not repeating the smell
  of a particular flower
 Chanel No. 5 is also known as the
first perfume to be a blend of
  many floral scents, rather than
smelling like a single type of
  flower.
 The scent, imbued with jasmine,
  rose, sandalwood and vanilla
• It was the only
  thing Marilyn
  Monroe wore to
  bed and one of the
  few brands the man
  on the street can
  recognise it just from

  had a “perfume for
  women that smell like
