Fifteen senior students from Lawrence Technological University's Department of Art & Design will be hosting a thesis exhibition of their work on April 17, 2015 at Arbor Lofts in Southfield, Michigan. The exhibition will feature graphic designs, digital arts, animations, and video games created by the students representing their skills learned throughout their degree. The event is open to both industry professionals and the public to support and provide feedback to the student work. Lawrence Tech has educated students in fine arts for over a decade and the annual exhibition allows graduates to demonstrate their skills and pursue careers locally and across the nation.

FIFTEEN LAWRENCE TECH STUDENTS HOSTING ART EXHIBIT
BFA Senior Students Hosting Thesis Exhibition in Southfield
April 6, 2015 – Southfield, Michigan – Lawrence Technological University’s Department
of Art & Design is home to three fine art degrees for those studying Graphic Design,
Digital Arts, and Game Art. The senior class is hosting an exhibition of their work on April
17, 2015 from 6pm to 9pm. It will be located at Arbor Lofts in Southfield, Michigan.
These students will be showcasing not only the work from their senior year, but skills
learned throughout their entire student career.
The event will host industry professionals and academic scholars, however it is open to
the public for viewing. The students encourage anyone to attend. “…it’s important to
support design within the community, because (art) can often be overlooked. We all
bring our own experiences to the art we view, it is valuable to get feedback from
everyone you can,” stated student Kristen Smith.
The class represents a variety of disciplines within the design field. Students studying
Game Art - Adam Oddo, Derek Freeman, and Joel MacFadyen – will present games
focusing on cooperation and play testing. Eric Djoumbi, Meredith Harper, John Gelardi,
and Ryan Albright – studying Digital Arts – will be featuring pieces ranging from futuristic
travel to animations. Andrew Peters, Anita Bukhtia, Ariel Milinski, Elizabeth Love, Jaleel
Graham, Madalyn Eudy, Nathaniel Edmiston, and Kristen Smith – studying Graphic
Design – will present designs in formats ranging from projection mapping to installation.
Lawrence Tech has educated students in fine arts for more than a decade. Each year
the students produce, create, and host their own exhibition to celebrate their upcoming
graduation. With the guidance of outstanding faculty, students are pushed to challenge
their understanding of design. Graduates have gone on to successful careers both
locally and across the nation, which they can attribute to the skills they were able to
demonstrate during their exhibition.
“I’m most excited about getting exposure within the Detroit community. It feels great to
finally show my work in a public, professional setting,” commented BFA candidate Jaleel
Graham.
