2. History
The Marietta High School Theatre has been a 501 (C) (3)
nonprofit for two years now, a group that has spread from the
basic levels of high school theatre into more professional
productions. These productions have expanded from school-
wide performances to district wide performances, with the
number of shows increasing from an average of two shows per
year to three to four. The students in this dept. are seen as
professionals with heavy trust and responsibility put upon
them. The MHS Theatre is a state winner for our Musical
Theatre Dept. that offers a system wide musical where any and
all ages in the school system can perform; as well as participate
in the prestigious Georgia High School Shuler Hensley Musical
Awards. We offer straight plays with participation in the one-act
competition and are active members of the EDTA Thespians
(Troupe #111).
