Use of Mood Meter in Service Satisfaction Survey

Suppose your project is to improve service quality of Police, Hospital, and Agriculture Office. You are
conducting a mid-term evaluation to know citizens’ satisfaction on the service delivery of these
institutions, and the gaps to improve. In that case, you can use the following tool to measure the level of
satisfaction and the reason behind this. You will also be able to gain their recommendations to
strengthening the service quality of these institutions.
Symbol to indicate Satisfaction Level
Highly Satisfied Satisfied Not Satisfied at All
Agriculture Office
Process:
1. Use courtyard and draw a round by the community people
2. Put the pictures of the institutions in the round by the community participants
3. Ask FGD participants about their satisfaction on the respective institutions and draw faces based
on the satisfaction level that they talked about
4. Now ask why the satisfaction is at that level and what recommendation that they want to make for
further improvement
5. Take note in details
6. Later, use those data for future planning.
