1. A PENNY OR A POUND
A penny or a pound,
The price I pay for Me
It all depends upon
The circumstance I see.
A penny’s worth, a pound of flesh
Each one determined by
The time invested in the chore
And how quickly I can fly
To escape unscathed, it happens naught
For a price there is to pay
In days gone past with trembling hand
I approached each and every day
Deciding where to pay the fare
For life’s journey to unfold
With trepidation in my mind
I did as I am told.
Life’s hills and valleys lay before
The girl whose soul did choose
The roughest roads to claim as hers
But in time she did peruse
She did pick the Lessons for
Her soul to be evolved
And understanding why it’s so
Her sins would be absolved.
Experience not to be judged
As good or bad scorekeeper
Is only there to teach us all
I am my brother’s keeper.
We walk in the shoes of those who came
Before us and come after.
2. Our goal’s to know eternal Grace
And rest under Heaven’s rafter.
So pay your price. It’s worth the ride
No thing you need to fear
Just trust that God won’t let you down
He’ll always hold you near.
