From Media to Transmedia: Transforming Teaching and learning Strategies in a ...
ASAP ProEquipment Poster
1. Introduction
Storyboarding to Engagement
The ASAP team, led by Grace McPherson in association with
Mason Kellner and Noah Lemanski, first looked into research
conducted on the viewing patterns of people as they look at
informational videos. The team was looking for different trends in
regards to viewing time with the count of engaged viewers. After
finding that only about half as many viewers were still viewing
the video after 45 seconds, the team made the executive decision
to create the storyboard to reflect a 60 second video. Additional
research was conducted to gather information about the freshwater
crisis affecting the world as well as extensive research on Pro-
Equipment and its technology, CORNCOB II. The ASAP team
then used the website Storyboardthat.com to create a clean, neat,
and professional storyboard.

The potential outcomes of this storyboard include:
• Creating a greater awareness of Earth’s fresh water crisis
• Increased awareness and sales of Corncob II
• Increased awareness of Pro-Equipment Inc. as a whole
We formatted our video much like Now This, a news agency’s videos, a short 30 second video with text
across the bottom as images and photos are displayed throughout. With this kind of formatting, this
video can easily be transferred into languages across the world, easily appealing to PRO-Equipment’s
international clientele. After creating the storyboard for PRO-Equipment, we got an unique inside look
on the waste-treatment and waste disposal solution industry. We also furthered our knowledge on the
creation of storyboards as well as the freshwater crisis affecting the world. We thank PRO-Equipment
Inc. for giving us the opportunity to further our knowledge in all these fields.

A high-pressue, high-velocity-cross-flow UF disc membrane
system called CORNCOB II. This membrane system includes
a whole new technology intended to eliminate conventional
pretreatment, increases the throughput flux (gpd/ft2) to a new high
level, and reduce operating energy.
PRO-Equipment, a waste-treatment and waste disposal solution
company, is currently undergoing a website redesign and tasked
the ASAP team with creating a storyboard to later be turned into
a 60 second informational video to be displayed on its home page.
Our clients, Douglas Hwang, Richard Davie, Ludek Zatopek,
and Charles Vorkuka, have over 127 years combined in the water
processing field. Our engineer clients wanted to get a fresh-faced
option on an appealing, gripping, and exciting informational
video that would not only intrigue the viewer but also shed light
on the freshwater crisis facing the world.
