IN THE PHILIPPINES,

NATIONWIDE HIV/AIDS
INFORMATION AND
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM,
ESTABLISHING A
COMPREHENSIVE
HIV/AIDS MONITORING
SYSTEM,
STRENGTHENING THE
PHILIPPINE NATIONAL
AIDS COUNCIL.
5. • This Act repealed the
Republic Act No. 6425,
otherwise known as the
Dangerous Drugs Act of
1972, as amended, and
providing funds for its
implementation. Under
this Act, the Dangerous
Drugs Board (DDB)
remains as the policy-
making and strategy-
formulating body in
planning and formulation
of policies and program
on drug prevention and
control.
6. • It is an act that
regulates the
packaging , use sale
,distribution and
advertisement of
tobacco products.
7. • PURPOSE OF THIS LAW
a. Promote a healthful
environment;
b. Inform the public of the
health risks associated with
cigarette smoking and tobacco
use;
c. Regulate and subsequently
ban all tobacco advertisements
and sponsorships;
d. Regulate the labeling of
tobacco products;
e. Protect the youth from being
initiated to cigarette smoking
and tobacco use by prohibiting
the sale of tobacco products to
minors.
8. • Its original goal was to
penalize acts like cybersex,
child pornography, identity
theft and unsolicited
electronic communication in
the country.
• However, a provision
expanding the scope of libel
law to cover Internet posts
was opposed by various
groups, which asked the
Supreme Court to issue a
temporary restraining order
(TRO) and a status quo ante
order.
9. • The cybercrime law could
see Internet users
sentenced to up to 12
years in prison for posting
defamatory comments on
Facebook or Twitter.
• Online libel was not part
of the original bill
proposed by the
Department of Justice
(DOJ) but was one of the
amendments inserted by
the Senate as proposed
by Sen. Vicente Sotto III.
10. • Refers to any public or
private representation,
by whatever means,
of a child engaged in
real or simulated
explicit sexual
activities or any
representation of the
sexual parts of a child
for primarily sexual
purposes.
11. • Anti-Hazing Act of
1995, also known
as Republic Act No.
8049 is a national
legislation in
the Philippines regulatin
g the act of hazing and
other initiation
rites in fraternities and
sororities in the country.
It prohibits and
penalizes physical harm
and violence in such
practices.
12. • It is a law that
promotes voluntary
blood donation to
provide sufficient
supply of safe blood
and to regulate blood
banks. This act aims
to inculcate public
awareness that blood
donation is a
humanitarian act.

mandatory
compliance by drivers
of public and private
vehicles to use seat
belt devices and
requiring
vehicle manufacturers
to install seat belt
devices in all their
manufactured
vehicles.

is for The Safety of the
people inside the car
and also the people
around it.
18. • Penalizes persons
driving under the
influence of alcohol,
dangerous drugs and
other intoxicating
substances.
