LESSON THREE
TAKING HEED

2. I. WITH THE WHOLE HEART
A. Hide the Word in my heart
The Bible is not a book of facts that you file away.
The Bible is a letter of love that you cherish always.
B. Rejoice in God’s Word
The word means to exult in or to be cheered by.
C. Delight in God’s Word
The word delight means to watch over and to care for, as a shepherd would his
flock of sheep.

3. II. WITH FERVENT PRAYER
A. O let me not wander
As much as we might love the Word of God, we are well aware of how prone to
wander from it that we are.
B. Teach me thy statutes
He teaches us the Word of God through our careful study
He teaches us the Word of God through our pastors and teachers and
He teaches us the Word of God through the guidance of the Holy Spirit who lives
within us.

4. III. WITH FAITHFULNESS
A. Meditate in God’s Word
It’s to keep a portion of the Word of God in front of you for a period
period of time so you can know it intimately.
B. Declare God’s Word
Once I know something of the Word of God, the next step is to tell
it to others.
C. Forget not God’s Word
And more importantly, less likely to forget to take heed to it.
