1. JRR Tolkien
JRR Tolkien was a writer and a teacher from England. He was born in South
Africa on 3rd
January 1892 and died on 2nd
September 1973.
He lived in South Africa until his father died in 1896. Then he lived with his
family in England. He studied in Oxford. Tolkien loved legends, stories and
philology. After participating in World War II, he taught language at the
University of Leeds. He was a friend of the shy writer CS Lewis. They were
members of a group of literature.
Tolkien wrote a book inspired by the Arthurian saga and medieval times. The
book The Hobbit told the adventures of peaceful people who lived in a world
called Middle-earth, with elves, goblins and wizards. The Hobbit was the
beginning of the trilogy of The Lord of the Rings.
2. But Tolkien wrote a lot of books, for example: The Silmarillion, The sons of
Húrin, The Return of the King, or The Fellowship of the Ring.Tolkien was a big
writer.
