INTRODUCTION
This report outlines the personality profile of John Doe as measured by the Business Attitudes (BAQ|F) questionnaire.
The Business Attitudes (BAQ|F) questionnaire is a self-assessment tool for personality traits, with a particular relevance for
the professional environment.
The Business Attitudes (BAQ|F) questionnaire is a concise summary of the personality profile of John Doe against the
classic 'Big Five' personality dimensions:
• Emotional Stability
• Extraversion
• Openness
• Altruism
• Conscientiousness
An extra dimension, Professionalism, is added to the mix, again to reflect the professional environment.
Some personality profiles are better adapted to some functions than others. With this in mind, John Doe’s personality profile
as assessed by the questionnaire enables the reader to determine how suitable John Doe is for any particular function or
role.
The information in this report is valid for a period of up to two years. Nevertheless, if John Doe experiences significant
changes in personal or professional life, we recommend taking the questionnaire again.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROFILE
EMOTIONAL STABILITY
Emotional stability is the tendency to behave as a calm and self-confident person, to control one’s emotions in stressful
situations and to stay optimistic when encountering setbacks or frustration.
Even though John Doe generally does not give a hurried impression, his strong commitment to his work sometimes makes it
hard for him to let go. This may cause him to experience a certain degree of agitation or nervousness in some situations.
John Doe has a somewhat pessimistic outlook on situations and tends to expect things to go wrong, even though he has
faith that everything will work out in the end. He probably tries to prepare a little in an attempt to reassure himself and avoid
possible problems.
John Doe may feel tension when faced with highly stressful situations. Still, he usually manages to limit the impact on his
performance and thereby maintain control.
John Doe takes the time to carefully consider the pros and cons before coming to a decision. In situations with conflicting
information he finds it harder to take the plunge and he sometimes procrastinates unnecessarily. As a result, he needs more
time to make a decision.

EXTRAVERSION
Extraversion is the tendency to behave as a dominant and assertive person, to take the lead in a group, to be talkative in a
discussion and to feel the need to influence and motivate other people.
John Doe occasionally assumes the leading role and steers the group in a certain direction, but he still feels slightly more
comfortable with other group members assuming that role. He does have a certain measure of interest in the steering of
others, but not to such an extent that he actively looks for opportunities to assume the leading role.
Considering that John Doe is not the most verbally skilled person in the group, he feels more comfortable when others take
the floor. He prefers to take part in the conversation from a listening position. As a result, speaking in public is not really his
thing.
John Doe describes himself slightly more as the type to shy away from discussions and negotiations than as the type that
goes looking for such situations. This does not change the fact that he will sometimes try to convince others of his point of
view, but in the slight majority of cases he will concur with the other discussion partners instead of trying to sell his own
arguments.
John Doe is hardly out to inspire or motivate others and is usually perceived as someone who hardly encourages others in
an assignment. Still, one could also view this from a different angle: this leaves more room for others to work autonomously.

VERSION F 6/9
OPENNESS
Openness is the tendency to be curious towards new ideas, alternatives and experiences, to have original insights and
creative ideas and to be open-minded towards models, theories and complex problems.
Complex, abstract concepts and theories fascinate John Doe. He loves solving complicated problems. He has an outspoken
theoretical interest and is intellectually very curious. Because of this he does run the risk of not always being able to
translate his ideas into practical solutions and thereby losing touch with reality.
John Doe is very creative and constantly generates new ideas and original views. By nature, he explores new angles and
constantly makes innovative proposals. As a result, he occasionally loses sight of established values and from time to time
he risks coming up with unrealistic ideas that aren't feasible in practice.
John Doe enjoys a lot of variation and change. He tries out new things himself and takes the initiative to revise existing
working methods. He does not like routine jobs at all. Consequently he can sometimes be experienced as fickle and not very
persistent.
John Doe hardly ever settles for the first solution to come along. He prefers to think of different alternatives and has no
trouble coming up with various other possibilities. Occasionally, however, the large number of options he comes up with may
keep him from making a quick decision.

VERSION F 7/9
ALTRUISM
Altruism is the tendency to behave as a cooperative, warm and agreeable person, to feel the need to be in company and to
look for social contact with other people.
John Doe's need to be in the company of others is less pronounced than his need to engage in certain activities alone. He is
able to work independently from others and is less inclined to seek the company of others of his own accord.
John Doe is much more likely to handle his own tasks autonomously than to call in the help of others. As a result, he rarely
asks for advice. He adopts a very independent attitude towards the group and often finds his own best interest slightly more
important than the best interest of the group.
John Doe is prepared to help others if necessary. However, sometimes he keeps his distance because he does not like
others to approach him with questions all the time. Still, he will step in if necessary.
John Doe is not the kind of person who will easily initiate new contacts. Initially he will keep his distance somewhat and
lacks the spontaneity to be easy-going in his social interaction with others. His style of communication is rather direct. He
does not want to pretend he is someone he is not.

VERSION F 8/9
CONSCIENTIOUSNESS
Conscientiousness is the tendency to behave as a reliable, objective and organised person, to take tasks to heart in a
meticulous way and to carry out tasks till the end.
Although John Doe sometimes elaborates with planning, he prefers to start on a task without too much preparation. He
usually reacts quickly to changing circumstances and is sufficiently flexible to handle any unforeseen circumstances that
occur. He usually attaches slightly less importance to interim deadlines.
John Doe is not very methodical or meticulous in his work. He hardly has an eye for detail and regularly forgets to dot the i's
and cross the t's. Consequently, the quality of his work often suffers.
John Doe prefers to rely more on his intuition and gut feeling rather than pay attention to facts and figures. He is less
inclined to quantify and is more susceptible to emotional arguments. Because he follows his instinct, he usually deals well
with incomplete or limited information.
When he comes across opposition or feels frustrated, he is a little more inclined to give up before the job is done instead of
completing it properly. Although it does happen that he sticks with his original approach when faced with problems, in these
cases he tends to be open to other methods or alternative solutions.

9. BUSINESS ATTITUDES
VERSION F 9/9
PROFESSIONALISM
John Doe can be considered as very ambitious. He is rather impatient concerning his career evolution. He sets very
ambitious goals for himself and holds himself to high standards. He wants to rise through the ranks at all costs and can
become frustrated when this is no longer possible. It might occur that he exceeds his possibilities.
In most situations John Doe is a little more inclined to look at information critically rather than accept it without question.
Despite the fact that he is generally highly oriented towards evaluating information critically, it can happen that he does not
notice all of the mistakes or gaps.
John Doe has a rather strong focus on achieving results and is quite competitive. He does not allow others to get the better
of him and he wants to be the best. However, this will generally not affect the collaboration with others. Achieving the
proposed results is an important motivation to him.
John Doe is continually working on strategy and the long-term objectives. He tends to think big and takes less account of
day-to-day practice and problems. As a result, he may start to 'float' and lose his impact in the short term.
John Doe usually influences the situation and makes his mark. He clearly has his own approach, which reduces his need for
rules and procedures. He forms his opinion irrespective of other people's point of view and usually tries to carry that opinion
through.
