he U.S. Senate campaign of Marcus Bowman launched officially Monday with a speech on the Alabama State Capitol steps in Montgomery: “It is another beautiful day in paradise here in the great State of Alabama”. The speech focused on “1,000 little fixes” of simple solutions to incrementally improve America solving specific challenges one at a time. In starting his campaign for U.S. Senate Bowman said a lack of leadership in Washington DC is resulting in “1,500 page bills that are selling the country down the river, passed at 2 in the morning, twisting arms the day before Christmas”. Media coverage of the event (National Journal, WBRC, WTVM) said “A political newcomer is hoping to take down U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby in next year’s Republican primary election.” The incumbent has been in Washington DC already 37 years, since 1978. Bowman intends to make the case to win the vote of every Republican primary voter on March 1 for Marcus Bowman, U.S. Senate. Bowman outlined his legislative analyst experience, Masters of Public Policy from George Mason University and ability to write short bills himself that can be published on his website for all Americans to read. “It seems the 100 Senators up in Washington DC have to rely on lobbyists to write the legislation”. Instead of 1,500 page bills Marcus Bowman in the U.S. Senate would emphasize "1,500 one-page bills" that for example could address citizen involvement in economic policy. "I would like to see 2 citizens, for example an Alabama truck driver and an Alabama retail clerk at the table with the Federal Reserve board and Wall Street CEO bankers". TV interviews after the speech asked about his interest in politics to which Bowman replied “As U.S. Senator it would be a job. To help Alabama and restore America. Hi, I am Marcus Bowman, Candidate for U.S. Senate
Good morning. It is another beautiful day in paradise in our great State of Alabama.
We are here on the State Capitol Steps in Montgomery
Today marks the official launch of my campaign for U.S. Senate
I will be on the ballot March 1 in the Republican Primary. My goal is to win the vote of every Republican
primary voter on March 1. I would like you to envision yourself in the ballot box circling next to my
name Marcus Bowman for U.S. Senate.
I am grateful for the supporters that have helped get me to this point, preparing my speech, asking me
the tough questions. We are here to:
Help Alabama. Help the people across Alabama.
And to Restore America.
Restore America to Constitutional Principles. A much more state-centered focus to government.
Restore America to Limited government. Too much money is being sent to Washington DC. There is too
much bureaucracy and federal meddling.
Restore America to Traditional, Conservative and Christian Values. And not be afraid to openly talk
about it.
And Keep America Safe. And secure. One day of terrorism could make any of the issues I could talk
about today irrelevant. And we need to remain vigilant. Protect our borders.
These United States of America we are living in the greatest country on earth. Well, we need to fight for
it. And work at it.
What we need right now is what I call “1,000 little fixes”. We need to address specific problems. Small
incremental improvements. Find the solution and move on to another small problem.
Too often in Washington DC the lack of leadership is resulting in only 1,500 page bills.
We do not need “comprehensive” bills that take 4 to 5 years to get anywhere.
We do not need 1,500 page bills anymore. Republicans and Democrats ram these bills through at 2 in
the morning, 3 in the morning. The day before Christmas.
My work as a political analyst focused on researching these 1,500 page bills. Line by line. I have a
Masters of Public Policy from George Mason University. I know the legislative process and I know how to
write bills.
Why is this important?

2. The Senators up in Washington DC today. They do not know how to write legislation.
Most U.S. Senators wait for lobbyists to slide the draft legislation across the table. It is lobbyists writing
most of the legislation in America.
The only way to solve problems in America is through legislation. Small fixes.
Instead of 1,500 page bills. I would like to see 1,500 one-page bills.
What would be in these one page bills?
One of these one-page bills could take a Federal Agency and conduct an audit of their operating
efficiency.
Another one-page bill could take a wasteful government program and close it.
Another one-page bill could repeal and eliminate some lines of U.S. Code to reduce red tape and help
small businesses.
We could take a specific problem regarding Veterans Care and quickly address the bottleneck.
These are bills that would be published on my website.
All Americans could see the bills. Read them. Review the legislation. The one page makes it easy for
everyone to know what it will do. Easy to pass. And thus quick to solve specific problems.
Solve a problem. Move on to the next one.
Incomes are stagnant. Year after year. And we need quality jobs and rising pay in America.
Instead all we have is a stock market that goes up every day.
Look I am as free market, pro-business, pro-trade as they come. So I’m glad to see the stock market rise
every day.
We just need to take our game up a notch in America. The elites managing economic policy in
Washington DC should know how to multi-task, but they have proven without question they can’t. That
is why Marcus Bowman is on the ballot. I also have a Finance degree and Economics degree with plenty
of experience in financial markets. I will add quality job creation and income growth to the tasks for the
monetary bosses.
One-page bills again. A one-page bill to Audit the Federal Reserve.
And while the Federal Reserve is being audited I would like to add 2 regular citizens to their Board.
So we could place, for example, an Alabama truck driver. And an Alabama retailer. And put their real
world, everyday working insights and sit them at the same table with Big Wall Street Bank CEOs and the
Federal Reserve Board of Governors.

This is going to be a challenge. I am up against an incumbent that has been in Washington DC for 37
years. This incumbent, a former Democrat, first went to Washington DC in 1979. He is running for a 6th
six-year term in the U.S. Senate that would amount, cumulatively, to a 44-year career in Washington. He
is not the only career politician in Washington DC.
Bear Bryant said “there is no substitute for guts”.
Alabama voters can demonstrate guts and help America pivot to the future voting for Marcus Bowman
U.S. Senate on March 1.
We have a new century of opportunities to work with: Uber, Bitcoin, drones and 3D printers. I have the
education. The experience. And the fresh energy to help Alabama lead America to the future.
