2. Every year, we start up on average 2 new
Driller Trainee Teams. Each team consists of
12 Trainees from around the world. The Pro-
gramme takes 12 – 18 months to complete.
During this time you will receive theoretical
training at our Maersk Training facilities in
Svendborg, Esbjerg (Denmark) and Aberdeen
(UK). Your practical training will take place
on our drilling units worldwide where you will
work your way up the Drilling Department,
from Roustabout to Assistant Driller. The
Driller Trainee Programme will provide you
with the necessary tools to advance quickly
up the career ladder. Once you become core
crew, you will continue your training, personal
development and career with Maersk Drilling.

Our Driller Trainee Programme is a great opportunity to gain

The aim of the Programme is to train future leaders for our drilling
units worldwide. Are you our next Driller Trainee ?
Degree (e.g. Marine, Maintenance, Mechani-
cal, or Civil), or equivalent. The Programme
is mainly aimed at recent graduates or
those with 1 – 2 years of experience. For all
candidates it is a requirement that you are
proficient in English and that you have a pas-
sion for working offshore.

Theoretical training will be completed ap-
proximately 12 months into the Programme.
Thereafter, you will continue your practical
training offshore until you are ready for and
offered an Assistant Driller core crew position.
After approx. 2 years as Assistant Driller, you
should be ready to take on the roles and
responsibilities of a Driller.
