This was a course I delivered to engineering first years, around 9th November 2009. Photography is based on the detection of photons. Photons are easy to misinterpret as these are a bunch of special quantum. They are not like other quantum mechanical particles. eg they are NOT electrons. How is a photon different from an electron while both electrons and photons are dual entities? That is they are both to be realized as wave as well as particles? Here is the most basic elucidation of their properties. A photon is more like a wave even if its both wave and a particle. An electron is more like a particle even if its both wave and a particle. That is basically so because the photons never carry mass, and as a consequence their speed is always as high as it can be, which is found to be 300,000 km per second. Its erroneous to call photon's REST frame into consideration for that reason. Its not a particle if we are to think classically, particles must carry mass and by effect of their mass, momentum. But while they are mass-less they do have momentum. This property is described in one article on my website, which I will find and link, if you are interested. But to the contrary the electron does have some mass even when its at rest. (Photon can never attain rest and can never attain mass, it can only have momentum and energy as long as its single and traveling in vacuum). So one can bring the electron to rest in some way. How does that affect photography? The basic laws of nature are different for electrons and photons for this reason. The very uncertainty principles that we chose to describe the electrons must first be changed in a special way before they can be applied on the photon. The difference is electron being more particle like due to its possible slower motion, does not describe the photon as the latter is never a slower candidate. Hence the Non-relativistic forms of Uncertainty Relation are to be changed into the Relativistic Uncertainty Relation. Only then photography can be properly understood. In this special latter case of photon, the regular momentum-position uncertainty relation is no longer valid. How can you describe the photon, which never comes to rest; with "its" POSITION? It does not have a position. Hence position-momentum uncertainty is to be changed. Its recast-able into a speed-momentum (and position-energy etc) form. A form which I have worked out in much detail in one of my research work, available on my website (mdashf.org) Hence a constant speed results in a blurred momentum, a blurred energy and a blurred position. Depending on various other parameters such as time, the probability patterns of a camera image changes depending upon the relative motion between observed and observer (camera and object whose image is taken) Due to relative motion between camera and object (such as a bird) one is definitely going to get a blurred image. This is the reason the moving parts of a body whose picture is being taken might produce a fuzzy image while the parts that are still, always produces a sharp image.

Why prices and stocks get inflated? Lets give it a natural reason. They get inflated for the same reason our age and our height get inflated. Can we keep ourselves the same size or same age? No. We can't keep our prices at the same value. Its not the number that changes. Its the value that does. Numbers are merely information, they can be manipulated. We can generate a facade and show that there is no price inflation, like the one Governments do to survive. But there are much bigger forces that are acting underneath the objects and their value. A fact which is even advantageous to black marketeers as they get a gold deal of camouflage from the subversive nature of the complexity.

Context. WASP-76 b has been a recurrent subject of study since the detection of a signature in high-resolution transit spectroscopy data indicating an asymmetry between the two limbs of the planet. The existence of this asymmetric signature has been confirmed by multiple studies, but its physical origin is still under debate. In addition, it contrasts with the absence of asymmetry reported in the infrared (IR) phase curve. Aims. We provide a more comprehensive dataset of WASP-76 b with the goal of drawing a complete view of the physical processes at work in this atmosphere. In particular, we attempt to reconcile visible high-resolution transit spectroscopy data and IR broadband phase curves. Methods. We gathered 3 phase curves, 20 occultations, and 6 transits for WASP-76 b in the visible with the CHEOPS space telescope. We also report the analysis of three unpublished sectors observed by the TESS space telescope (also in the visible), which represents 34 phase curves. Results. WASP-76 b displays an occultation of 260±11 and 152±10 ppm in TESS and CHEOPS bandpasses respectively. Depending on the composition assumed for the atmosphere and the data reduction used for the IR data, we derived geometric albedo estimates that range from 0.05 ± 0.023 to 0.146 ± 0.013 and from <0.13 to 0.189 ± 0.017 in the CHEOPS and TESS bandpasses, respectively. As expected from the IR phase curves, a low-order model of the phase curves does not yield any detectable asymmetry in the visible either. However, an empirical model allowing for sharper phase curve variations offers a hint of a flux excess before the occultation, with an amplitude of ∼40 ppm, an orbital offset of ∼−30◦ , and a width of ∼20◦ . We also constrained the orbital eccentricity of WASP-76 b to a value lower than 0.0067, with a 99.7% confidence level. This result contradicts earlier proposed scenarios aimed at explaining the asymmetry observed in high-resolution transit spectroscopy. Conclusions. In light of these findings, we hypothesise that WASP-76 b could have night-side clouds that extend predominantly towards its eastern limb. At this limb, the clouds would be associated with spherical droplets or spherically shaped aerosols of an unknown species, which would be responsible for a glory effect in the visible phase curves.

Theoretical predictions and observational data indicate a class of sub-Neptune exoplanets may have water-rich interiors covered by hydrogen-dominated atmospheres. Provided suitable climate conditions, such planets could host surface liquid oceans. Motivated by recent JWST observations of K2-18 b, we self-consistently model the photochemistry and potential detectability of biogenic sulfur gases in the atmospheres of temperate sub-Neptune waterworlds for the first time. On Earth today, organic sulfur compounds produced by marine biota are rapidly destroyed by photochemical processes before they can accumulate to significant levels. Domagal-Goldman et al. suggest that detectable biogenic sulfur signatures could emerge in Archean-like atmospheres with higher biological production or low UV flux. In this study, we explore biogenic sulfur across a wide range of biological fluxes and stellar UV environments. Critically, the main photochemical sinks are absent on the nightside of tidally locked planets. To address this, we further perform experiments with a 3D general circulation model and a 2D photochemical model (VULCAN 2D) to simulate the global distribution of biogenic gases to investigate their terminator concentrations as seen via transmission spectroscopy. Our models indicate that biogenic sulfur gases can rise to potentially detectable levels on hydrogen-rich water worlds, but only for enhanced global biosulfur flux (20 times modern Earth’s flux). We find that it is challenging to identify DMS at 3.4 μm where it strongly overlaps with CH4, whereas it is more plausible to detect DMS and companion byproducts, ethylene (C2H4) and ethane (C2H6), in the mid-infrared between 9 and 13 μm. Ultrasound color Doppler imaging has been routinely used for the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, enabling real-time flow visualization through the Doppler effect. Yet, its inability to provide true flow velocity vectors due to its one-dimensional detection limits its efficacy. To overcome this limitation, various VFI schemes, including multi-angle beams, speckle tracking, and transverse oscillation, have been explored, with some already available commercially. However, many of these methods still rely on autocorrelation, which poses inherent issues such as underestimation, aliasing, and the need for large ensemble sizes. Conversely, speckle-tracking-based VFI enables lateral velocity estimation but suffers from significantly lower accuracy compared to axial velocity measurements. To address these challenges, we have presented a speckle-tracking-based VFI approach utilizing multi-angle ultrafast plane wave imaging. Our approach involves estimating axial velocity components projected onto individual steered plane waves, which are then combined to derive the velocity vector. Additionally, we've introduced a VFI visualization technique with high spatial and temporal resolutions capable of tracking flow particle trajectories. Simulation and flow phantom experiments demonstrate that the proposed VFI method outperforms both speckle-tracking-based VFI and autocorrelation VFI counterparts by at least a factor of three. Furthermore, in vivo measurements on carotid arteries using the Prodigy ultrasound scanner demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach compared to existing methods, providing a more robust imaging tool for hemodynamic studies.
