 Depression ( Major depression) is a common
and serious medical illness that negatively
affects how you feel, the way you think and
how you act.
 It can lead to a variety of emotional and
physical problems and can decrease your
ability to function at work and at home.

 You should think of the word “depressed” as “deep
rest”. Your body needs to be depressed. It needs deep
rest from the character that you've been trying to
play.”
 DEPRESSION is a mental health disorder, specifically, it
is a mood disorder characterized by long lasting feeling
of sadness and also loss of interest.
 Depression is long lasting problem - the average length
of depressive episode is 6-8 months

 Depression (Clinical depression or Major
depression) is a most common but serious
mental disorder which is characterized by
sadness, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings
or guilt, disturbed sleep, feeling of tiredness
and poor concentration.
 To be diagnosed with depression, the
symptoms must be present for at least two
weeks.

 It is found that ,the prevalence of depression in
women is double in comparison to men.
Reasons:- Because of Hormonal changes Menstrual
Cycle Social and some psychological factors.

that of females.
