4. Who hires Testers?
• A search at Microsoft Careers page for ‘Software Engineering:
Test’ at all places resulted in 434 open positions (search done
on 4/23/2013)
• A search at Google careers page for ‘Software Engineer in
Test’ or ‘Test Engineer’ showed 55 open positions (search
done on 4/23/2013)
• And each software engineer spends 35% of the time
debugging and testing the code.

– Make sure it works before it is shipped.
• Easy to use
– Make sure that novice and expert users have a space.

– Make sure it’s security cannot be breached.
