M’VITA D M’BAMBI, second year Ph.D. candidate, was born in
MATADI, Congo Central, Congo DRC, Africa and was raised by a
Father first coffee farmer.
2. He received a B.S. in Forestry from Superior Institute of
Agronomic Studies (ISEA) Bengamisa and Engineer Degree in
Agronomy from Faculty Institute of Agronomy (IFA) Yangambi,
from the National University of Zaire (now Congo DRC).
Since 1990, M’BAMBI has Master of Sciences (M.S.) in Plant and
Soil Sciences from Tuskegee University, Alabama, USA.
Presently, he is writing a Ph.D. thesis dissertation with the
University of Witwatersrand of Johannesburg, South Africa. His
research subject is: “Food security in a changing climate:
Exploring the potential of permaculture as an adaptive strategy
against climate variability in Kinshasa, Congo (DRC)”.
During his field research M’BAMBI initiated and established a
scientific research center with the Minister of Scientific
Research and Technology of DRC, authorization # Min. RST
/182/180 /001/B/2016.
In 1985, he hired by Agricultural Research and Vulgarization I
(RAV I) Extension and Research Project in Zaire (now Congo
DRC) as Plant Breeder with the focus on Beans, peanut,
soybeans, in the program called National legumes Program
(PNL) for seven years.
In 1992, he moved to the USA to the University of Georgia as
Extension service Agent in DeKalb County in charge of the
urban community garden and educator at the Environmental
Education Center for 13 years.
In 2009, M’BAMBI was a visiting lecturer at the University of
Kongo and Pedagogic Superior Institute (ISP) in Mbanza
Ngungu. He also lectured at the Technology Institute of Food
Sciences (ITACHI) of Kimpese in Congo Central Province for
two years and in 2010 he was an Associate Professor at Kasa
Vubu University in BOMA and served as Head of Agriculture
Department to represent.
3. In 2014, M’BAMBI accepted as a Ph.D. candidate at the
University of Witwatersrand, Department of Geography and
Environmental Studies, Johannesburg, South Africa. M’BAMBI
Doctorate research subject is: “Food security in a changing
climate: Exploring the potential of permaculture as an adaptive
strategy against climate variability in Kinshasa, Congo (DRC)’’.
Now writing his thesis dissertation and plan to finish in July

M’BAMBI is married and has four sons and two daughters, and
also, a grandfather of a baby girl.
M’BAMBI’s VISION:
Since 2000, Cased Foundation dedicated to offering the best training
and innovated agricultural education systems to small farmers in the
Congo (DRC) and other countries around the world. Through our travels
to meet small farmers worldwide, dedication to forgotten poor local
farmers, support of the agricultural practices improvement and
humanitarian causes, we uphold a vision that environmentally friendly,
social and economic sustainability are possible while meeting standards
of excellence for quality and healthy organic farming system based on
permaculturepractices.

experience and education will serve.
