1. Introduction
Key to success is to create and offer unique added value services to the market in the shortest possible
time. Smart Com is a leading technology vendor for interactive TV (ITV) systems which are proven and
based on open standards. Bee Smart ITV can be fully pre-integrated based on the components and
solutions from the leading vendors from the IPTV world. It has been proven in many cases and
different networks which gives you in a time of network convergence unlimited possibilities to use the
same solution for different access technologies. It is based on the open standards adopted in the DVB
and IP world which gives you freedom and flexibility for safe further growth. Pre-integrated Bee Smart
ITV packages contain all systems and services that are required to build and run an IPTV service.
Alternatively to pre-integrated packages Bee Smart offers you the choice to pick your building blocks
for each segment separately according to your preferences. Here you can select from the list of
vendors that appears next to every building block or add a new one that is not on the list. NewTelco
will with its experiences and knows how to help you to determine the optimized combinations for your
IPTV system.

According to our experiences service providers are having lot of challenges while preparing business
models and defining the input requirements. Today technology offers different approaches where not
all of them are efficient and cost effective.

1.1 How to start?
First step is very important. We know that we need to make it, but in most cases we don’t know how
to make it. NewTelco encourages you to contact us and we will go together with you….from inception
to the all next steps.
Today many different technologies are available and they have huge impact on the Service Provider’s
business case. Not all technologies are appropriate for your project and in the following lines we would
like to show you pros and cons for every piece of the system.
1.2 Digital Live TV
Digital Live TV is a basic service that is required and main requirement here is that there are enough
attractive channels available in very high quality. Usually service providers are offering to their
customers lots of Live TV channels in many different boundless. How to provide high quality video?
Answer is not trivial as it depends of the bandwidth that is available. Optimal quality is provided by
retransmitting the same content as it is received. Meaning if the content at satellite is in MPEG-2
format it should not be changed and the quality remains the same. This works for Cable, FTTx, ETTx
and VDSL networks
