One Earth Writing is a nonprofit organization that brings together teens from different communities through collaborative writing workshops. The workshops help participants discover their shared experiences and interests, and realize that beyond outward differences, people's lives, desires, and dreams are remarkably similar. One Earth Writing believes these experiences can help youth build understanding across differences and eliminate bias. The organization is led by founder Lynne Golodner and works with schools, religious institutions, and community groups to host writing programs for teens.
Building Camaraderie and Understanding Through Shared Stories
1. One Earth Writing
was created by Lynne Meredith Golodner, a
world-renowned writer, entrepreneur and teacher
of writing who has seen story connect people in
profound ways. At a time when our world feels
more broken than ever, we are dedicated to
building camaraderie, community and peace.

WE ARE
ALL THE
SAME
At One Earth Writing, we believe in
the power of story to heal
the world. Personal story shared
between eager youth who believe a
person sits in front of them, not a race,
a religion or a socioeconomic status.
Our programs bring together teens
from communities that may not
ordinarily cross paths. Through
collaborative writing workshops,
our participants discover their
common stories of love and loss,
sports and food, belief and emotion,
and realize that the details of our
lives are incredibly similar.
One Earth Writing is a 501c3 public charity; all contributions are tax-exempt by law.
2. We work with schools, churches,
synagogues, mosques, community
centers and other organizations where
teens want to explore the world with
an open mind and a welcoming heart.

Using passion and story,
we build bridges of understanding between
people of different religions, races, geographic,
socioeconomic and many other origins. We
hear the same themes in other people’s stories
and realize our hearts beat in unison.
It’s pretty hard to hate someone
whose eyes reflect your own,
whose words are uncannily familiar and whose
desires and dreams mirror what we yearn for.
It is our goal at One Earth Writing to expand
world views, eliminate bias and stereotype,
and change a generation’s perspective on
race, religion and difference so that one day,
we will all inhabit a world of possibility.
Our six–month Ambassadors program
involves teenagers in monthly writing
workshops and teaches them to co-facilitate
some of our community programs.
