iESHUBFINGER ON THE PULSE OF THE
FUTURE IN FASHION
WORDS_TIMOTHY HURT
old, image defining, swagger-in-
ducing are all key components to
this new force to be reckoned with
on the fashion scene. Founded
by professional athlete turned
fashion designer Samuel Taylor,
TESHUB clothing (which means
The Evolution Starts Here Under Brilliance) launched
in 2005 and has breathed new life into today's predict-
able and forgettable fashion industry. Billing itself as
"distinguished sportswear" this fashion forward innova-
tor marries luxurious fabrics to exceptional detailing to
produce a clothing line that speaks to a lifestyle and not
just the in the now trends of today.
"TESHUB is about empowerment," says Taylor.
"It's about exploring more than one thing, taking
chances." Combining athletic/street wear with contem-
pcrary styles will set this innovative fashion designer
apart from the nameless drones already on the street and
in production right now. This versatile and diverse cloth-
ing line gives you everything from custom- made tees,
track jackets, denim hats, and bold print hoodies to high
-end Ostrich leather jackets and outerwear.
Embracing the influence of Hip-Hop and R&B,
TESHUB speaks to the individual sense of style.
TESHUB is in the business of "translating dressed up
srreetwear for the masses" and allowing the wearer
to feel comfortable while exuding a quiet confidence.
Taylor readily admits that TESHUB is not designed
for everyone, but for the wearer who is not afraid of the
cutting edge. The ideal TESHUB man likes to invest in
pieces that can be worn for the next five years.
TESHUB can be found in specialty boutiques and
mass reotailers across the country. 0

n yet another example of the pun-
ishment severely exceeding the
crime, a young African-American
male in Georgia by t he name of
Genarlow Wi lson is currently serving a ten
year bid for aggravated child molestation.
His crime: receiving oral sex from a fifteen
year old. Nevermind that Wilson was sev-
enteen at the time and the girl repeated ly
told authorities the act was consensual.
Wilson was still
convicted last year.
Since then there's
been a public outcry
against the laws that
put W ilson in prison.
To add insult
to injury, the law has
since been rescinded,
yet Wilson remains
in prison because the
bill that was passed
to amend the child
molestation criteria
specifically prohib-
ited the law from
being retroactive.
Prosecutor,
Eddie Barker, claims
that an admission of
guilt by Wilson is the only thing that could
potentially overturn the sentence. "The ball's
in his court," says Barker. "Like I've said
before, he's the only person that has the
power to change this."
Unfortunately it's not that simple. Wilson
has already turned down two plea bargains
stating, "What's right is right. I'm just stand-
ing up for what I believe in."
The prosecution isn't the only one
blocking W ilson's
release. After State
Judge Thomas
Wilson reduced
Wilson's charge
to m isdemeanor
aggravated child
molestation and
resentenced him to
only twelve months,
Georgia Attorney
General Thubert
Baker has appealed
Judge Wilson's
decision, staying
Genarlow.
As the "justice" sys-
tem plays vo lleyball
with his life, Wilson
remains in prison. 0

emy Smith, aka Remy Martin sur-
rendered to authorities Sunday,
July 15 after being charged
with attempted murder, assault
and criminal possession of a weapon.
The Grammy-
nominated
Bronx rapper
is currently out
on bail after her
manager posted
the $250,000
bond. Her lawyer
Scott Leemon
said stated that,
" everyone has
to keep an open
mind, these are
merely allega-
tions and things
are not always
as they seem."
The
charges were
made after

alleged childhood friend Makeda Barnes-
Joseph claimed Remy shot her shortly after
they left a pizza restaurant in Chelsea. She
cla imed there was an argument between
the two and Remy Martin shot her.
People around the two verified there
were words exchanged regarding money
earlier t hat night.
A llegations about money being sto-
len have been
brought up
between the
two in the past.
According to
close friends of
Martin, Joseph
has stolen from
Martin in the
past, though
Martin forgave
her. Joseph's
boyfriend alleg-
edly threatened
Remy, say the
friends. They say
Remy had no
gun on her that
night. An anony-
mous friend of
the women said everything was fine until
the entourage went outside and Joseph
tried to slip away. Throughout all this Remy
Martin has maintained her innocence. 0
