The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) has the strongest banking brand globally according to Brand Finance's 2017 rankings, surpassing Wells Fargo. Chinese banking brands have grown significantly in value over the past 6 years, with the total value of Chinese banks more than tripling. Meanwhile, German and some European banking brands have lost value, with Germany experiencing a 34% drop in brand value year-over-year.
