1. HOW TO GET
1. Tame your brows
Before you apply any other makeup, start
with your eyebrows. Use a spooly brush (it
resembles a mascara brush) to comb them
up and then down so you can see their
natural shape. Then, pluck any stray hairs
with an angled pair of tweezers. “Brows are
sisters,” says Toronto-based makeup artist
Vanessa Jarman. “But I like to make them as
close to twins as possible.” (When plucking,
remember that the inner corners of your
brows should line up with the outside of
your nostrils, and the arches should line up
with the outer edge of the iris of your eyes.)
Next, comb the spooly brush through the
head of your brows all the way to the tail.
2. Fill in the blanks
Use a sharp pencil (in a shade lighter than
the hair on your head to keep it looking
natural) to better define your brows, making
hair-like strokes through the heads of brows,
then under and through the arches. Comb
them with the spooly brush again. “If you
miss this step, the brow hairs tend to stick
together and product won’t apply evenly,”
says KISS celebrity makeup artist Marni
Burton. Then, use an angled brush to apply
eyebrow powder to even out the shading.
3. Keep it clean
To take care of any mistakes, run a conceal-
er brush over the skin above and below your
brows. Keep everything in place with a clear
eyebrow mascara or apply a bit of brow wax
for a dewy sheen.
