Community Involvement 1998 to Present
During my time in University I was involved in many board positions on OUTreach, the LGBTQ organization for queer
students. I was involved in the inception of pride week at the U of A, running meetings, fundraising for the
organization and event creations such as the Gender Bender reception first held as a Drag Show in SUB.
I was the founding member of Pride Squad Edmonton, the LGBT cheerleading organization that completed in the Gay
Games in Chicago. We represented Edmonton in many pride festivals across the country from Edmonton to San
Francisco over the 5 years of its involvement in the LGBT Community. As co-captain, I lead our regional team to a
medal in Chicago.
I have been the creator of many fundraising events in Edmonton, most notoriously known for my Green with Envy
soirées which donated over $5000 in funds personally to charity over its 5 years.
My biggest contribution has been to the ISCWR. Over my 10 years involvement, I have been involved in many
fundraising shows with the organization, served as President of the organization for a 2 year term. I achieved success
with the organization as Emperor 35, raising over $35,000 for the organizations charities that year which were HIV
Edmonton, Camp Millicent’s Red Diamond Retreat, Camp fYrefly and student bursaries.
I have put in countless hours volunteering for other community organizations in our community as well.
Recently, I have been representing our community as the Regional Ambassador for the Mr. Gay Canada foundation.
After my win locally, I went on to represent Edmonton and placed Runner Up on the national level. I am also currently
heading up as regional director to ensure the continuance of Edmonton having representation on the National Level.
This year I have provided my expertise to JTMF Artists for Life and joined their board to help with the Annual Artists for
Life Fundraiser that TD has sponsored, and will be working with this organization to continue my work in developing a
camp for Children and Families in Alberta (Formerly Camp Millicent’s RDR) who are affected by HIV to have a safe space
to network, learn, and celebrate life.
Perhaps the biggest contribution that I am proud of is my involvement in the TD Pride Network. I have been an avid
member of the organization, representing not only Edmonton but Alberta, both as a representative for TDI as well as
TD Edmonton. Recently, I has stepped up to take a more regional lead as Co-chair of the entire TD Pride Network in
Edmonton and served as a Western representative at a conference in Toronto this year for World Pride.
I have organized events within the company from #Pinkit forward, wearing pink T-shirst for Anti Bullying Day,
Transgendered Day of Remembrance, National Coming Out Day and Pride.
There are countless customer service compliments throughout my time at TDI and I have received many peer and
manager nominations in regards to my customer service. Finally, in closing, as a TD Allstars Champion in the past, I
plan on striving hard for success and making a return this year.
