3. There are a total of 127.457 inhabitants living in Lanzarote.
Its climate is subtropical and its
average annual temperature is about
22ºC. The wind blows permanently
in the island.
The dromedary is popular in
Lanzarote. It is a tourist
atraction.
4. Lanzarote is considered a reserve of the biosphere and it has many protected sites:
TIMANFAYA NATIONAL PARK:
Lanzarote is of volcanic
origin, different volcanic eruptions and
magma activity made this land.
5. MIRADOR DEL RÍO:Iit is situated in the northern part of the island, 479
metres above sea level. You will have an excellent view of the island of La
Graciosa.

6. CÉSAR MANRIQUE FOUNDATION: The
foundation has its seat in the impressive house of
César Manrique. There are sculptures and drawings
of the artist.
JAMEOS DEL AGUA:It is in the
northern part of Lanzarote. In the
Jameosthe presence of volcanic
tubes is on display.
7. -The most important event in the island is celebrated in honor to the
Virgin of the Dolores or Volcanos every 15th September.
-The other great insular celebration is the carnival, celebrated
almost always in the month of February, although its date depends
on which date Easter is held.
-Other festivities are: the celebrations of Arrecife, in honor to San
Ginés Bishop; the celebrations of San Juan; and the celebrations in
honor of the Virgin of the Carmen
