healthcare including pre-hospital emergency care and trauma units. This provides a platform where practitioners may gain professional development through the

At EM Travel SA, we aim to provide a service, which caters to every element of your trip to South Africa. Our expert knowledge in tourism and hospitality has allowed
us to manage every element of your trip – From Flights & Accommodation to Safaris & Tours.
We welcome all groups and practitioners travelling with families and further aim to provide alternative entertainment and activities while practitioners are occupied
with the clinical elements of their trip.

travel planning; we are able to determine each individuals needs and base our planning off their requirements.

Client Liaison Officer
Each client is additionally provided with a Client Liaison Officer, tasked with being the first line of communication for any eventuality including 24-hour concierge
services. Your personal CLO will also be tasked with ensuring your safe arrival at clinical shifts on time and general transit to and from your various activities.
A Liaison Officer will be available at all times during your stay and will be available either through telephonic communication or social media platforms.
Our Liaison Officers boast knowledge in local culture, history, and activities available and are more than willing to assist you. Our Liaison Officers also bare knowledge
in healthcare and are available to answer most clinically related queries.
Our Liaison Officers are also available to travel and accompany you on your tour of South Africa upon request and should the need arise.

Our Process
Our client management process is structured in such a way that the maximum amount of convenience is ensured for the client. After primary communication, one of
our travel consultants will be in contact to arrange for either a telephonic or video conference in order to discuss every element of your travel arrangements.
During your primary consultation, further information will be provided for your benefit and this also provides clients with an opportunity to raise any questions or
queries. Please do not hesitate to make any special requests at any time during your consultations.
Clients are issued with a primary itinerary and quotation, to which changes can be made at any time prior to final booking confirmation. Client quotations are calcu-
lated and provided to the client in their own countries currency.
A 50% payment is required up front in order to secure your booking. Our standard booking and cancellation policy is provided to the client during the planning stages
of your trip.
Once all arrangements have been finalised and your booking confirmed; our travel consultants will be in constant communication prior to your arrival.
Upon arrival in South Africa, you will be met at by your Client Liaison Officer who will be tasked with ensuring the smooth running of your entire trip.

Minimum Requirements
As EM Travel SA is a company that caters specifically to the International Healthcare Community and has elements relating to the treatment of patients; certain
minimum requirements have been stipulated by the Health Professions Council of South Africa and need to be met by all practitioners who will be attending clinical
shifts. It is also required that a minimum of 1 practitioner per booking attend the clinical shifts.
Travellers who are not qualified as medical practitioners and will not be attending shifts do not need to meet the following requirements:
Vaccinations
Due to the potential exposure to numerous diseases and illnesses; all practitioners who will be attending our clinical shifts are required to provide proof of vaccina-
tion for all major dread diseases not older than 3 months. A list of all compulsory vaccinations is available upon request. Alternatively, arrangements are able to be
made for vaccinations upon arrival in South Africa.
In the unfortunate event of potential exposure to diseases, EM Travel SA has procedures in place to ensure the rapid treatment of any circumstance (including needle
stick exposure).
Qualified Practitioners
Qualified medical practitioners are required to possess and provide proof valid registration with their relevant clinical governing body (General Medical Council,
Healthcare Professions Council, Nursing Council etc.). Practitioners are required to provide confirmation of registration not older than 3 months.

Minimum Requirements
Students
Medical Students are required to possess valid student identity and student registration with relevant clinical governing body. Currently EM Travel SA only offers its
services to students currently in or having completed the third year of their studies at one of the recognised educational institutions and be over the age of 21
Additionally, students will be required to provide written motivation from their relevant head of department and include a list of all modules already completed.
Non-University Qualifications
Medical Practitioners who have completed training through trade schools and/or other non-university educational institutions are required to have been qualified for
a minimum of 12 month and provide valid registration with their relevant clinical governing body.
Additionally all practitioners with non-university qualifications are required to have completed the International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) course.
Armed Forces
EM Travel SA welcomes all members of the armed forces who have completed and hold qualifications as Combat Medical Technicians or equivalent. Practitioners are
required to possess and provide valid confirmation of registration with their relevant clinical governing body not older than 3 months.
Additionally, members of the armed forces are required to provide written motivation from their relevant commanding officer.
