• Leadership development based on
Sanford’s ten competencies within the
following three overarching categories:
– Personal Excellence
– Social Effectiveness
– Operational Efficiency
• A progressive approach that builds on
prior experiences to increase the depth
and breadth of your leadership skills
• A shift from the traditional classroom
model to include self-directed and
needs-based learning (e.g., eLearning,
white papers, learning circles, etc.)
• Executive partnerships where senior
operational partners drive the design
and help grow future leaders

leaders at Sanford Health
• Hogan Coaching/Individual
Development Plans
– Session to review Hogan Assessment
results to drive potential strengths
and weaknesses as a leader
– Devlopment plan is an outcome
of the coaching session
• Leading for Purpose
– Entry-level leadership
development program focusing
on leadership experiences
– Provides a foundation for
leadership competency
– Seven half-day sessions once a month
and one final all-day session
Advancing leaders will focus on self-
awareness, strategic thinking, personal
development and skill development in order
to effectively create high performing teams.
Advancing Leader Experience includes:
• Leading for Impact
– Seasoned managers/directors
nominated by executive leaders
– Advanced leadership development
program focusing on the application
of leadership in the workplace
– Seven half-day sessions once a month
and one final all-day session
• Leading for Success
– A half-day leadership development
program for all seasoned leaders

– Sessions focusing on preventing and
addressing conflict and effectively
using disciplinary practices
