Target has expanded its product offerings to include more grocery items like produce and meat in order to become a one-stop shop for customers' shopping needs. The company plans to launch a Target rewards program and enhance its social media presence on platforms like Facebook, Foursquare, and Twitter to increase customer loyalty and awareness of Target's expanded selection. A $2 million budget is requested to implement these initiatives, including giving rewards and coupons for social media engagements and store check-ins to draw more customers to Target.
2. Dayton Dry Goods Company has come a long way since 1902. Renamed
Target in August of 2000 the company has climbed the social ladder and
become the second largest discount retailer behind Walmart. Target has
made some renovations to create a family atmosphere and become a one
stop shop for all your needs. Target is now selling more grocery items such
as fresh produce and meats to show that they can be a place to get all your
necessities from clothes and shoes to dinner for tonight.
"By remodeling our stores and expanding the grocery selection, we're able
to bring an even more convenient shopping experience to Target's guests,"
Annette Miller, senior vice president of grocery, said in a statement.
3. What’s the plan?
I would like to make customers more aware of what
target has to offer through various social media
networks and through launching a Target rewards
program. my goal is to show consumers that the
shopping experience with target is what they need
to make life simpler.
4. Budget
I am asking for $2million to:
¡ enhance social media sites (i.e facebook,
foursquare, twitter)
¡ Have free giveaways
¡ Flash mob
¡ Implement Target rewards
5. Target Rewards
Target rewards would be a program to help gain
consumer loyalty to our brand.
Perks:
¡ Redeemable coupons
¡ Rewards when reaching points in increments of
50.
On the launch date of the program random door
prizes will be given to guests at each store(shirt,
Target gift card)
7. Facebook
¡ This is the current Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/target
I would like to create a new Facebook page that is
all for the Target rewards movement. The page
would be about the renovation and innovation that
target has to offer consumers. I would like to
increase likes by implementing giveaways to draw
in traffic to the website to make consumers aware
of the innovation
8. Foursquare
I would offer rewards when you check-in to
foursquare. This will increase foursquare usage
and consumers will have the opportunity to gain $1
off coupons when checking in at their local target.
9. Twitter
¡ Gain 200+ followers daily
¡ using #targetrewards hashtag to create volume
on facebook and target website
¡ Respond to 50% of tweets
¡ Giveaways monthly
10. Website
After revamping the social networks I would
redesign the website to show that Target is a one
stop shop by making non perishable items
available for delivery in bulk and creating a banner
that says “produce/meats now available at your
local store”. Our target webpage will still have the
overall basic theme but the traffic that the social
networks will help to drive sales on electronics,
housewares, clothing items, etc.
11. FLASH MOB
On the launch of the target rewards program I
would like to create a Flash mob in the first store to
create more volume and show that there is a cool
shopping experience when shopping at target.
