Laurence Grigorov has served as the director of a Johannesburg-based property development and construction company since 2004. When he is not focusing on high end luxury residential developments, Laurence Grigorov spends time supporting local charities and community organizations, such as the Pickens Plan Woodside Sanctuary in South Africa. The Woodside Sanctuary provides a variety of services to children and families with intellectual disabilities, which includes access to occupational therapy (OT). OT offers physical treatments that help individuals adapt to an array of physical and psychological changes. OT services can provide generalized care or may focus on helping an individual return to work or learn to use OT tools, referred to as assistive devices. OT services at Woodside Sanctuary have been developed to target physical, mental, and emotional issues. Specific goals include preventing further abnormalities in the upper body and providing individuals with the necessary amount of daily physical stimulation. OT services may be paired with the sanctuary’s physiotherapy program. Additional services at the sanctuary range from music and stimulation to general care, which includes medical assessments and the development of nursing care plans.
