“How can a young man keep his way
pure? By living according to
your word.”
-Psalm 119:9
CBC Kids LTD
Grapple —Sunday A.M.
Preteens are at a crossroads between child
and young adult. During the 5th & 6th grades,
many challenges arise. Grapple groups are a
way to help kids meet those challenges head on
and respond to them in a positive way.
Grounded in the Word of God, the Grapple
curriculum uses biblical truths to encourage kids
to follow Jesus and respond to daily trials in a
way that would honor Him.
Our Grapple leaders are seasoned Sunday
School teachers, happy to discuss even the
toughest issues your kids are facing.
Grapple groups meet at 9:15 am and 10:55 am
in Portable 3. All Grapple kids are encouraged to
attend Worship Service the hour they are not in
Grapple.
Monthly 56er Events
At an age when many kids
feel lost, our high powered
monthly events help 56ers
find friends and purpose.
Although the events
may seem outrageous,
remember, they are centered
around God’s Word and
building a relationship with
Jesus Christ first. Then
comes the craziness…
Paintball, Laser Tag, American Gladiators, The
Amazing Race, Minute to Win It, I Survived a
Japanese Game Show, and Splashdown nights
are just a few of our crazy events. The fun draws
kids in, the message keeps them coming back!
The annual GLOW (God Light Our World)
Lock-In is a huge hit with an entire night of glow-
in-the-dark activities and fun. And don’t miss the
life-changing Mission Mission, where kids raise
money for the El Paso Rescue Mission and serve
the people who live there.
Mission Trip
While Jesus tells us to go
make disciples of all the world,
He didn’t give an age limit!
Each fall, 56ers spread God’s
Word through service, teaching
and hand’s-on evangelism.
Staying in the southwest, the
kids spend three challenging
days stretching themselves by
leading songs, worship, lessons and crafts at a
mini-VBS and Youth Rally.
In between, the group can be found delivering
food to the needy, visiting the lonely, mowing,
building, and performing whatever task the
community needs most.
The 56er Mission Trip is a great way for kids to
put their problems and challenges into perspective
by being the hands and feet of Jesus to others!
Parents are welcome to share the adventure as
Sponsors in order to keep a 1:5 ratio of adults to
kids on this trip.
56er Worship Team
Music is a life changing way to get to know
Jesus. Our 56er Worship Team learns to lead
Praise and Worship at an age appropriate level,
while gaining performance and leadership skills.
Singing, dancing and drama are all part of the
experience as 56ers lead their peers and younger
children in song. The Worship Team leads music at
VBS, Mission Trip, during King’s Kastle Halloween
alternative party, Kid’s Day, camp and other special
events.
Junior Ministry Team
JMT is a great way for 56ers to learn leadership
skills. Members lead Preschool and Elementary
Children’s Church services each Sunday through
skits, puppets, song, dance, contests and crafts.
Preparing for leadership, JMT not only work
Sunday mornings, but attend Monday afternoon
meetings to plan and practice for the following
week. To apply for a position, ask anyone in the
CBC Kids LTD department for a JMT packet.
Awana
Join us Wednesday nights
for the Ultimate Challenge —
meeting Jesus and learning
to follow God’s Word.
Awana is an international
girls and boys club like Boy
or Girl Scouts. Instead of
cooking or camping, kids are
challenged to memorize
scripture and apply it to their
lives.
Kids earn badges and awards for memoriza-
tion, plus take part in high-octane group games.
The evening is capped off with a Council Time
message from God’s Word designed to turn
hearts toward Jesus and help kids make wise
decisions to follow His Word for a lifetime and
beyond!
Summer Activities
Keep in touch with your 56er friends by attending
the following events…
 Wet & Wild (July 4th)
 Vacation Bible School (3rd week in July)
 Pool Party and MORE!
