Employer:
C&N Fire Systems
Summers of 2008-2015 (current employment)
Work Duties: Fire sprinkler installation, maintenance, and inspection. This included but not
limited to pipe fitting, general construction, delivering materials, operating heavy machinery
and mechanical tools, etc.
2. I took on the challenge to start a lawn business of my own and started mowing yards on my
own to help pay for bills and school the last 3-4 years. I have been the only salesman for this
endeavor and it has been growing to where I have actually had to turn down work due to my
schedule and amount of work I already had.
Activities:
I have attended Pleasantview Baptist Church all of my life.
I have been a student athlete for the University of Texas at Arlington and Texas Wesleyan
University, where I was a full time chemistry major. I have been a member of the school
basketball program for all of high school and college except for this last school year of 2014-
2015 due to my four years of college eligibility being used.
Community Service:
As an example of my motivation and my determined mindset, I always wanted to play
basketball for a NCAA Division 1 school but did know some of the important things to put
myself on that platform (like play in the Select league called AAU). Despite having no interest
from Universities of that caliber, I was determined to play and went to the UTA and
volunteered to be a manager. That year I told the coaches I wanted to walk on the next year
and was allowed to do different drills at times throughout the year. The next year I was offered
a spot on the team.
I participated in three separate week long mission trips to Mexico, where I assisted poor and
needy families repairing houses, and distributing various gifts. Work for the church was
performed, as well as passing out Christmas gifts for the local orphanage.
Other Job Qualifications:
Being a student athlete at the Div. 1 level on top of pursuing a B.S. in chemistry illustrates a
concrete picture of drive and determination as well as respect, coach ability, perseverance,
time management, teamwork, work ethic, discipline and many more.
I have had a semester course on various analytical chemistry instruments including Gas
Chromatography, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Differential Scanning Calorimetry,
and many more. The lab portion of this class involved the students to design their own
experiments and perform them on the various analytical instruments.
I have taken a computer course over Microsoft office in college and high school, and have basic
computer knowledge and typing skills.
I have been a door greeter at my church before, and am very much a “people person.”
3. Mechanically inclined:
-Rebuilt a classic car with my dad growing up.
-Repair my own lawn equipment including riding mowers, push mowers, weed trimmers,
blowers, etc. I have actually bought equipment that would not run and fixed them to sell or use
myself.
-Been involved with repairing and maintenance procedures for various heavy equipment used
in the company I have worked for.
Chemistry Qualifications:
I have taken the following chemistry courses in college:
General Chemistry 1 and 2 with the labs
Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 with the labs
Inorganic Chemistry 1 and 2
Quantitative Chemistry with lab
Polymer Chemistry
Biochemistry
Physical Chemistry I and II with labs
Advanced Synthetic Methods
Instrumental Analysis
Seminar in Chemistry
